Cyber Bullying -Part 2
When people hurt you over and over, think of them like sand paper; They may scratch and hurt you a bit, but in the end, you end up polished and they end up useless.
It’s almost 8AM and Kayla is running around like a headless chicken trying to get her bag organized.
She was supposed to do all this the night before but got distracted by her conversation with her crazy buddies and keeping tabs of some people over social media.
Kayla: mom I’m really late. kisses cheek and leaves
Kayla mum : Kayla! You didn’t have your breakfast.
At school:
There was a spot which the friends met at.
Kayla being late, got her friends annoyed but nevertheless they always had something to chat about to kill time.
The most popular girl at school wasn’t very fond of these girls, but Kayla and her gang tried to avoid the “plastics”, since arguing with them or trying to justify something was not worth it.
Naomi : laughs so guys are we on for this weekend.
Hailey : yes ma’am!
Kayla : I’m still trying to make a plan guys, my mum is being a control freak all of a sudden. ugh!
Tash : I’m in but i have to make an excuse that I’m staying at Hailey’s place. Dad’s cool but y’all know how my mum gets. Hash tag police wanna be lol.
Naomi : Okay, so Thursday we need everyone’s confirmation.
Friday we meet at my place, dress up and take a cab to our final destination.(giggles).
By the way, I forgot to mention that max and his boys will be there so dress to impress alright.
The bell rings, and their miserable lectures begin.
What made it more frustrating is when they received so much assignments that’s due within a week.
After school the girls meet up at their spot and discuss about the homework.
Hailey : okay, chill guys. We’re only going out for one day, so from now until Friday and the day after Friday we can continue with our work. Easy peasy. Why y’all gotta be so dramatic man.
Eventually everyone agreed with Hailey.
They chatted a little more and then headed to Kayla’s place.
While Kayla is getting into her comfy/happy clothes, the girls make themselves at home, grabs some snacks and head to the room.
Tash : Kay you need an update girl. How else do you expect to get noticed if you’re hiding from these cuties.
Naomi : yes kay. It’s time to create that account now.
Girl it’s now or never…go big or go home.
Hailey: laughs what the hell is that Naomi. You’re so Savage.
Kay you don’t need to be honest about everything… It’s just about having fun, getting lots followers, socializing with some of the hottest dudes, and basically make yourself a little popular babes.
Kayla : okay, okay il do it but not right now. Maybe tomorrow alright.
Kayla’s simple life was going to change drastically from tomorrow.
Everything she imagined about social forums will be her biggest regret soon.
Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of your life; define yourself.
The next day had passed by with ease.
Kayla wasn’t late for school, thank God and her day spent with her friends was nothing extraordinary except for what was going to happen after school.
That got all the friends anxious for the bell to ring and head to Kayla’s place.
Naomi : Enters the house. Okay firstly we need to fulfill our tummies desires and then get cracking with our mission possible.
Tash : laughs, why you gotta be so dramatic nalz.
Naomi : Where’s the fun in being an old nag tash rolls eyes, turns around and starts digging into the fridge for munchies.
Hailey : guess who spoke to me today smirks
Naomi : please don’t tell me one of max friends.
Hailey : yes. it was Jackson jumps up and down with excitement
Kayla : He’s so cute hails. He doesn’t seem to be so rude either.
Tash : so what did your’ll speak about, Come on spill it.
Hailey : well… he wants to hang out, he said max is planning something so he will keep me updated.
Naomi : tries to speak while her mouth is stuffed with food…
Kayla : nalz, can you chew the damn food and then speak.
Naomi : i said I’m in… Especially if they are organizing it. Imagine how awesome it would be. Oh my worrrrrrd twangs, anyways Kay let’s get started.
They rush to Kayla’s room, flops on the bed and attempts to create an account.
Kayla : whoa, there’s such weird questions here guys.
Tash : you don’t need to answer them correctly. A little lie here and there would bring the boys to your yard winks
Hailey : kay. Don’t worry so much about that but make sure you have a stunning display picture.
It took a few minutes and everything was set for Kayla.
It’s only been 10 minutes and she was getting invites.
One of them was her crush Darien.
Kayla : screams…. Darien added me
The girls : looks at Kay as if she’s lost it mentally calm down girrrrl.
They continue chatting, making jokes about each other etc, and suddenly they hear a knock on the room door. It was Kayla’s mum.
Kayla mum : hey girls, what’s the excitement about.
Girls : Oh nothing special,just excited we almost done with our assignments and have the weekend to relax
Kayla : mum can I go out with the girls on Friday please. We won’t be going alone. Naomi’s brother is taking us and will be with us the entire time.
Kayla mum : uhhh okay but make sure you’re back home before 9.
Kayla : hugs her mother thank you, thank you mum.
It was getting late, so Kayla’s friends decided to leave and continue with their chat tomorrow.
Kayla was already hooked on this new chat group, trying to figure out everything about it one night.
It’s like a new toy which is keeping her in suspense.
Every move is a mystery being uncovered.
