You see what others have, and your heart feels heavy.
You see someone achieving something, and suddenly you feel hopeless.
You watch someone living the life you once dreamed of, and you feel unlucky.
You look at a family that seems so educated, and you begin to think you’re not enough.
You’re mocked for the way you dress, non-branded, simple.
You’re judged for the places you eat, or the phone you carry.
And slowly, all of it adds up.
It adds to a pain you were already trying so hard to heal.
You find yourself constantly looking at the lives of others, questioning every little thing about your own.
But don’t do that, my dearest reader.
As much as you may feel like the unluckiest person… you’re not.
Allah has blessed you in ways you haven’t even paused to notice.
He didn’t make you someone who is deeply attached to this material world.
You weren’t created to be defined by glitz and glamour.
Allah has given you health, while someone else struggles just to get out of bed.
He has given you a home, while someone out there sleeps under plastic.
He has given you food, no matter how simple, while someone else goes to sleep hungry.
Allah created you as you are.
You are beautiful. You are unique. Embrace that.
There is someone who cannot even look into a mirror and see themselves.
And yet, you can.
Allah has given you far more than you think. You just need to look a little closer.
Use what He has blessed you with, your eyes, your ears, your mind, your tongue.
Reflect. Listen. Speak of Him.
Turn back to the words of the Qur’an.
And in doing so, insha-Allah, your love for Him will grow.
and that heaviness, that doubt, that feeling of “not enough” will slowly begin to fade.
Whenever you find yourself slipping into comparison, gently pull your heart back.
Remind it of what truly matters.
Because your worth was never meant to be measured by what you have or how how you look. But by The One who created you, chose you, and continues to sustain you, every single day.
