Cyber Bullying – Part 11
“A second chance doesn’t mean anything if you never learned the lesson of your first mistake. So if you are lucky enough to be given one, make it count. “
Cyber Bullying: Kayla enters her home feeling relieved that she could finally eat home food, watch her favourite series without any disturbance especially not getting disturbed by the crying of a child every few minutes. More than being happy to come home and rest, she was thankful for having a second chance to live and make things right rather than being a coward and giving the bully the advantage to ruin more lives.
Kayla enters her home feeling relieved that she could finally eat home food, watch her favourite series without any disturbance especially not getting disturbed by the crying of a child every few minutes. More than being happy to come home and rest, she was thankful for having a second chance to live and make things right rather than being a coward and giving the bully the advantage to ruin more lives.
She looks at her mother, and thanks her Creator in mind for blessing her with such a strong- willed, beautiful, independent, woman who always had her back. Kayla : mumKayla’s mum : yes sweety (walks towards her daughter) Kayla : I love you, I’m so grateful to have a mother like you and I’m sorry I haven’t been more open with you, I guess I was scared that you would turn out to be a dragon.
Kayla’s mum : laughs you don’t have to be afraid anymore alright. I’m not only a mother but a friend who you can confide in and ease your mind off any negativity okay.
Kayla : Thank you mum. Kayla’s mum : so what would you like to eat today Missy, i know the boiled food was coming out from your ears laughs Kayla : Can we have pasta please. Chicken and mushroom pasta.Kayla’s mum : pasta is coming out of my ears blocks face and laughs
Alright let me get cracking. Kayla : WOW ! my mother uses slang smirks
Kayla’s mum had gone into the kitchen to prepare lunch and Kayla had switched the TV on, looking for a good movie. Her friends, Tash and Naomi had come to visit. They waited until she’s discharged so they could come home to see her.
They join Kayla in the lounge, not sure if they should speak about what happened because they didn’t want to upset her or make her think of that dreadful night. So they spoke about general things and enquired about how she’s feeling. Kayla had told them that she feels stupid about attempting suicide, she told them that as of now she will no longer be on that chat account and she’s going to try to ignore those hate comments, she realized that if she isn’t what people say she is, then there’s no need to let it eat her up. Its easier said that done but she says her mother signed up for a counseling session to help her deal with issues like these to make her strong mentally and physically.
Her friends agree with what she said. They are just glad that Kayla had not given up, she’s trying to fight back and be her normal self again. They asked if Hailey had come to see her because they’ve been trying to get a hold of her the past few days and she isn’t responding to their messages.
Kayla didn’t hear from Hailey and assumed she’s busy or maybe feeling bad that they fought so much, so that’s why she didn’t come to see her. They decided to forget about everyone and select a good movie to watch while waiting for the pasta.
At Hailey’s place :
Hailey could not eat, nor sleep. The thought of what she had done was eating her up so bad that she didn’t have the courage to face her friends. She considered reaching out to kayla, not to reconcile, but to give her the opportunity to chew her out or get answers.
“Carrying around a “killed” friendship weighs heavy on one’s soul. It’s the psychic equivalent of humping a dead body around on your back: Only when you slough it off do you realize what a heavy burden it was.”Hailey felt that she kept this deep dark secret in for too long.
She needed to tell someone, she needed to let it out hoping to feel better and the only person she could confide in now was her mother but she didn’t know what to expect. Would her mother understand, disown her, would she be disgusted and regret having a daughter like that. Hailey had to take the chance not matter what the outcome could be. If she kept this secret any longer, she would go insane.
