Patience, My Friend. Patience
(A Tribute Written By Maymoona Stranger )
To the Mother who has lost her child,
To the Child who has lost their Beloved Parents,
To the sibling who has lost a Brother or Sister,
To the spouse who has lost their 'better half',
To the companion who has lost a friend,
To anyone who has lost
the light of their eyes or the pride of their life,
To someone who has lost their happiness to sorrow or their health to sickness,
To every single one of you, who have lost or are losing someone near and dear to your heart – *I sure know how you feel.
Grieving over any loss, especially of those close to our hearts, is more painful than a stubborn wound that simply refuses to heal. It bleeds, and bleeds, until we wonder if we've even any blood left, and it's at this moment when we really need to remember…
Our loved ones are out of our sight but Allāh has never let any of us out of His Sight, so what could be better than knowing they've simply left us to return to The Most High…?
Be happy for them, my friend, for they're now the guests of The Most Loving, The Most Merciful Host. Be happy for them, for every ending is but a new beginning.
Yes, they have reached what we see as the end.
But it's not just the end of their stay in this world – it's also the end to their pain, torture, cruelty and tests. It's the end to their grief, calamity and stress. It's the end to their stay in this world but it's also the beginning of their stay in a far better place, bi-Rahmatillah. A place of Eternal Joy, where we hope to be reunited with them soon, bi-Rahmatillah.
And though this hope of meeting them again remains strong within us, it does not always exempt us from the natural, human pain felt during separation. We don't only lose our loved ones, but we lose a piece of ourselves. Life seems like it will never be the same again. We live with something called uncertainty, as the days pass, with an almost undying pain.
On some days, you'll feel like you're coping and you'll smile. And on other days, your emotions feel like an insurmountable pile, making you feel like you'll never pull through another mile in this race of life.
But, through it all, there is something that will make it easier for you to breathe, that will make your heart a little free:
The acceptance of Allāh's Infallible Decree.
Yes, we sometimes face denial before acceptance.
But the reward all lies in your endurance.
Your patience will bear for you flowers after rain and happiness after pain.
Your patience will bear for you roses after thorns and Jewels after stones.
When you're promised ease & comfort, believe it – wholeheartedly.
Believe that for every tear you shed and for every moment you grieve,
Allāh has especially prepared for you what no eye has ever seen, what no mind can conceive.
Pour your heart out to Allāh and run to Him, run to Him as best as you possibly can, and know that He will always give you so much more than just a helping hand.
Even when it's impossible for me and you to understand, believe that Allāh always has the Best Plan.
Believe, my Beloved.
Believe that only Allāh will always get you through, for there is absolutely nothing that He cannot do. Call upon Him and know that He will answer you, this much I gurantee you, only because Allāh's Promises are always true.
