In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the permission of Allah, nearly two years ago, I had a bursary interview and my Mualima( teacher)took me to the venue. It so happened that another muslimah had one too and Mualima took her as well.
As I used to travel, before I met this muslimah, I always saw her in the train and I wondered who she was and what life is like for her, and funny enough, she saw me too. She saw me with my books, reading and admired me and thought I’m an intellectual.
On this very day, we met and as we both are, we eventually started talking.
By Allah, I have never had a friend who reminds me of Allah, until I met her. I have never understood the importance of “halal, haram ratio” until I met her. Today my Mualima told me that she knew if we were to meet, we would get along well. SubhanAllah.
If you have a friend who loves you for Allah’s sake, you are truly blessed. If you are that friend who loves other’s for His sake, make sujood and thank Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.
If you fight or you’re angry at each other, no matter what, if you love each other for Allah’s sake, it won’t affect the love you have for each other because of your love for the One who’s Most Affectionate, Allah. A friend who loves you for Allah’s sake will be honest with you, show you who deserves to be in your life even if it doesn’t benefit them. That friend will climb a mountain for you for Allah’s sake and the sweetness in their smile will prove it.
Narrated by Anas, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have the sweetness (delight) of faith:
1. The one to whom Allah and His Apostle becomes dearer than anything else.
2. Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah’s sake. and
3. Who hates to revert to Atheism (disbelief) as he hates to be thrown into the fire.”
Sahih al-Bukhari.
To love each other for Allah’s sake means to remind each other of Allah, of the One who is the Owner of Taqdeer. When we love each other for Allah’s sake our relationships and everything becomes meaningful and it will be better than what this fleeting dunya has to offer.
Love each for His sake because the prophet Salallahu alayhi wasalaam said Allah, the exalted, will give shade on the day where there’s no shade but His to the ones who love’s each other for His sake and meets and parts in His cause. May Allah Subhanahu grant us this and make us of those, Aameen.
