The Nullifiers of Faith
Nullifiers of Faith
The Nullifiers of Faith: Allah Ta’ala is the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. Everything between the heavens and the Earth belong to Allah. He is in total control of everything. He is One and has no partners. Only He is worthy of worship.
من لم يكفر المشركين او شك في كفرهم او صحح مذهبهم
Not regarding a Mushrik (polytheist) as a Kaafir (disbeliever), doubting about his Kufr (disbelief) or regarding him as correct in his beliefs and practices.
Disbelief in Allah Ta’ala and polytheism (ascribing partners unto Allah) is the worst of all crimes.
Naturally, a disbeliever and polytheist are the worst of criminals. When a person commits a heinous crime that is witnessed by each individual or the evidence against the perpetrator is as broad as daylight, no sane person will regard the defense of such a person as reasonable and acceptable. The defense will in fact be deemed as unscrupulous and unethical.
In the same way, a Muslim cannot overlook the Kufr (disbelief) of any person nor disparage it to the extent that he doubts his disbelief or regards his beliefs as correct and agreeable. Muslims must believe that the beliefs and practices of non-Muslims are incorrect and invalid. If this belief is not held, there is no need for any person to embrace Islam nor any need for Muslims to engage in Da’wah and Jihad because the purpose of Da’wah(propagation of Islam) and Jihad is to raise the name of Allah so that nothing or none else but Allah Ta’ala is worshipped.
Consider a ship sailing on the ocean. If water from the ocean finds its way into the ship, sooner or later, the ship is bound to sink. Similarly, allowing oneself to become desensitized to Kufr (disbelief) and sympathetic to it’s system, may result in the loss of one’s Imaan(faith).
All prophets of Allah Ta’ala were sent to preach Islam in its pure and pristine form. Initially Jews and Christians had the original scriptures with them. As long as they practised upon it as revealed by Allah Ta’ala without any distortions, they were on haq (truth), thus they were true believers.
Eventually they distorted the truth and altered the books of Allah. As a result, they no longer had clarity as to what was truly from Allah and what was not. Subsequently, Allah Ta’ala sent Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alayhi Wa Sallam as His final messenger. No one can be considered a believer unless he believes in Islam, the religion that Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alayhi Wa Sallam was sent with.
All non-Muslims must be deemed as polytheists and disbelievers. The common trait prevalent in all non-muslims is an incorrect belief about Allah Ta’ala and Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alayhi Wa Sallam.
Jews, Christians, idol worshippers, atheists, etc, will all be regarded as disbelievers and from amongst those who have ascribed partners unto Allah. Any person who says “Jews or Christians are on a true religion” is a Kaafir.
Similarly, if a person is questioned about the beliefs of Jews and Christians and replies: “I cannot comment anything about them. Jews are following a religion, Christians are following a religion and Muslims are following a religion. Each person is entitled to follow the religion of his choice.” Such a person is guilty of kufr and is thus, out of the fold of Islam. The reason for this is that he has not regarded kufr (disbelief) as kufr (disbelief).
Another example of an incorrect answer to the above question that will be deemed as Kufr (disbelief) is: “I don’t know whether they are Kuffaar (disbelievers) or not! The Tawrah was revealed to the Jews, the Injeel to the Christians and the the Qur’an to the Muslims. I don’t know if they are Kuffaar (disbelievers) or not.” In this case, the doubt of the Kufr (disbelief) of Jews and Christians will invalidate a person’s Imaan and render him Kaafir (disbeliever). May Allah protect our Imaan.
One of the prerequisites of Imaan is to reject and disbelieve in false Gods, religions and isms. Allah Ta’ala states in the Noble Qur’an:
“Whoever disbelieves in Taaghoot (anything worshipped besides Allah) and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most firm handhold which will never break.”
سورة البقرة – ٢٥٦
Based on the verse above, it is clear that Imaan is dependent on:
- Negation of all false Gods, religions, isms, etc. This means to personally disavow, reject, refute, hate and regard it and it’s people as your enemies for the sake of Allah.
- Belief in Allah alone.
In the narration of Saheeh Muslim, Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: (Whoever says: لا إله إلا الله and disbelieves in all that is worshipped besides Allah, his wealth and blood will be sacred and his reckoning will be upon Allah.) As a last word, reflect on the following words of the Glorious Qur’an.
“And whoever adopts a religion anything but Islam, it would never be accepted from him and he will be from amongst the losers in the Hereafter.”
سورة آل عمران – ٨٥
May Allah Ta’ala keep us firm on Islam.Aameen
