Every Action is Judged
Every action is judged according to it’s intention.
Through my neighbour, zainab’s window, I could see her dancing in a promiscuous manner. It’s nearly dhuhr and I wondered if she was planning on praying.
Ahmed could see his friend, Zakir, standing in a corner with his friends while each one’s taking turns to smoke shisha and obviously waking up the cancer.
As Fatima was about to leave for work, she saw her daughter, Layla in her school uniform giving a complete stranger the directions to the place which he’s seeking and gets furious at the sight of them. Perhaps, there was no one else in sight to ask, perhaps the place he was seeking is the nearest mosque and Allah rewards her for guiding him there.
As soraya walked up the stairs in her abayah and niqab, she seen a hijabi, Taybah in her skinny jeans and scarf with a single, bright pink hair strand peeking out and laughing audibly with her girlfriends.
As Muslims we should leave that which does not concern us and give others the benefit of the doubt.
Regardless of what we see in others and what they see in us, Allah knows the intentions within our hearts.
Perhaps, Zainab has been quitting music for months and keeps slipping yet continues to seek her Rabb’s forgiveness and maybe Zakir was try to give his friends dawah (religious advice).
Taybah is struggling with hijab just like you’re struggling with your nafs( desires), that doesn’t mean Allah does not see her struggle, perhaps Allah has granted you to set your eyes on her so that you may encourage her to dress modestly and make dua for her.
Make dua for others when you see something in them you might not like and ask Allah to forgive you both. Perhaps the purest form of love you could show others is by making dua for them.
“ *When people are impressed with you, know that they are impressed with Allah’s covering of your sins*.”
Allah is As-Sami, Al-Baseer (The All Hearing, The All Seeing). Know that He sees the struggle in all of us, even if we don’t talk about it, Even if there are moments when your mind causes you to feel like you’re living in rage, let the remembrance of As-Salam (The Peace, The Source of Peace and Safety, The Saviour) cause your heart to quiver with peace.
Always renew your intentions before, whilst, and after doing a deed.
