Cyber Bullying – Part 1
Bullying is not a reflection of the victim’s character, but rather a sign of the bully’s lack of character.
Cyber Bullying become very common/rife now days for teens and adults to get bullied over social media.
What was once a place of relaxation, a place to vent, a place to be yourself and let everyone be intrigued by your awesomeness, a place to post about stuff that makes you happy has now turned into a battlefield, a competing forum, just because of the urge to be the most popular or prove whose in control.
Kind of dominating right, and we thought we were done with our parents lecturing and dictating to us.
These social forums has brought so much fear in a person that it refrains them from logging in because of the thought of what could happen next.
Who would have thought that such a simple platform where everyone looks forward to post exciting things about their life, or share a few images could lead to something so disastrous.
It’s all so absurd at times.
Your friends try to get you to socialize and open up, and when you become well recognized and get a little taste of fame it becomes an issue.
The jealousy starts to creep in and make them do things to you just because you’ve become a little popular over social media.
This is the sick mindset of some people.
One minute you want the best for someone and the next minute you want to destroy that person’s reputation because of a certain amount of “likes”, or “followers”.
Even adults have these issues, if it’s not about being popular, then it’s a friend, a family member, or even a stranger whom you don’t now jack about that is trying to ruin you in every way possible.
The next story is going to be about kayla and how she dealt with cyber bullying.
Chapter 1
Alarm goes on…. Kayla slowly reaches for the phone and switches the alarm off, still keeping her eyes closed for another five minutes.
Five minute snooze is over and she takes her time to get out of bed.
Late nights are always regretful in the morning but do we learn from that mistake?
She checks her messages before proceeding with anything else.
Selfies, updates, checking notifications is the usual morning routine when Kayla gets up for school. Multi tasking while getting ready for school.
She was a simple, pleasant girl.
A girl who never bothered about what others might think of her appearance and her choices. She didn’t have to stress about keeping up with the latest fashion trends, the best boyfriend, etc.
She was happy with the way her life was(less drama) , although she did wish to hang out with some of the hottest guys at school but that wasn’t easy if you’re not amongst the popular ones.
To be noticed by these cuties, you had to have some popularity in your life.
Just being intelligent and sticking to the same daily routine doesn’t attract these dudes.
They look for girls who are not so uptight so it’s easy to get involved some illegal and fun activities.
Kayla knew what those guys are like, but being a teenager and being in that environment, tempts you to get involved.
She was young, she couldn’t control her feelings all the time and she definitely didn’t keep them bottled.
She would discuss it with her friends (haily, Naomi, and Tash).
Her friends had an obsession for being popular, they would often come up with the most weirdest, and risky plans just to be noticed.
