Being Grateful
Allah Ta’ala created every individual in a unique way, so we should be greteful
He gifted him/her with distinctive aklaaq (character), appearance, special qualities, etc.
Why do you need to base your self worth on what others think of you, allow it to doubt your beauty, feel intimidated by their complexion or appearance.
Why do you live a life of competing with others, why do you need to allow that negativity to question your Creator and ruin your self esteem.
By doing so, you are not appreciating what Allah Ta’ala has bestowed upon you.
I understand that self esteem plays a vital role in our lives, there’s a lack of confidence in every aspect of our life, but sometimes “YOU” are to be blamed for allowing the negativity to take control of your mindset. It could lead to tragic results if one is not cautious to keep their thoughts or decisions in control.
You continue to belittle yourself and therefore everyone around you does the same.
How you think of yourself, will have an affect on how others think and look at you.
If only you learn to be grateful for the ni’mats that Allah Ta’ala has gifted you, accept your appearance and be happy. Be content with whatever you possess, then only you will have the courage and mindset to erase and turn a deaf ear to anything that might be harmful to your self-esteem.
If you look at a blind person, he has everything that you have but not the ability to see, SubhanaAllah Allah Ta’ala has granted you that gift to see.
Look at a person who is deaf and mute, they have the same parts and functions as the people who can hear and speak but what a great favour of Allah Ta’ala to grant us the ability to hear and speak.
If you try to think of your body and life in this way, then you will be more aware of Allah Ta’ala’s bounties and ni’mats… You will become more grateful and there won’t be any reason to entertain hate comments, insults, or even belittling yourself.
This dunya is not Jannah.
This dunya is filled with all sorts of tests.
You need to decide who your righteous friends are, think about which path your life is heading to.
There’s no happiness if Allah Ta’ala is not a priority in our life.
How else do you expect to be content, have serenity in your life if you continue to put your focus on everything else besides Deen?
Remember this sinful slave in your duas In sha Allah Ameen.
